About Us

Coming up to 60 years of continuous service, Warren & Wignall is a third-generation, family-owned firm and one of the North West’s leading auctioneers and valuers. Founded by Philip Warren and Thomas Wignall, the business is now proudly run by father-and-son team Peter Warren MRICS and James Warren FGA DGA. Our reputation has been built on trust, integrity and a personal approach that has earned the confidence of both private and professional clients.

We hold regular auctions featuring fine art, antiques, jewellery, watches, silver, collectors’ items and house contents, connecting North West vendors with thousands of buyers throughout the UK and across the world.

Our Expertise

Peter Warren MRICS, a Chartered Arts and Antiques Surveyor, has dedicated over 40 years to the profession. His extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the trade underpin the high standards we maintain. As members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), we adhere to strict professional and accounting regulations, with all client funds protected under the RICS money protection scheme.

James Warren FGA DGA has been part of the business for more than 20 years as an auctioneer and valuer. Recognising the potential of online bidding early on, he helped expand the reach of our specialist sales to a global audience. His passion for jewellery led to him becoming a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain in 2021, later Diamond Member in 2025, making him the only FGA DGA qualified auctioneer in Lancashire.
